Off the Beaten Path
Uptown

Welcome to the heartbeat of the Queen City. Uptown (what locals refer to as the downtown area) is the perfect place to start experiencing all that Charlotte has to offer—from rooftop patios to historical landmarks.

Morning

Famous Toastery Uptown

For a hearty meal to start the day, stop in Famous Toastery for any Benedict you can dream up, Huevos Rancheros or even lunch (served all day long).

Visit The Green

This 1.5-acre park in the center of Uptown Charlotte is a must-see attraction. The Green has public art and sculptures, and is also within walking distance to the Mint Museum Uptown, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts + Culture.

Afternoon

Lunch at Latta Arcade

A tucked-away gem taking visitors back in time is Latta Arcade, a diner’s alleyway filled with options from deli sandwiches and poke to quintessential Southern fare to be enjoyed indoors or out.

Visit Romare Bearden Park

Just across from Latta Arcade is Romare Bearden Park, named for the famed Charlotte native artist. Waterfalls and greenspace are juxtaposed against the city skyline, with a perfect view of Truist Field.

Evening

Dinner at Cowbell Burger and Whiskey Bar

Kick back at this vintage-style lounge which offers gourmet burgers and drool-worthy bites. Menu items include the PM Burger, topped with deep-fried jalapenos, and Jaws, a delicious salmon burger.
