SpringHill Suites by Marriott Charlotte University Research Park
Stayed here over the weekend because my daughter had a cheer competition. Everything was wonderful! Alex cheched us in and he was so nice. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and had a lot of options. When I checked out I had a question and Leonard and another girl (didn't get her name) were super helpful and kind. We will be back to this location whenever we are in the area. Thank you!
We stayed 2 separate nights at this hotel, once going and once coming from Florida. The first time the bathroom in our suite smelled like cigarette smoke and 2 out of 2 boxes of chocolate milk had gone bad during our breakfast. We let the hotel know and hoped for better on the way back. The second time it was sad, the sofa in the suite was ready for the dumpster and the mattresses also need replacing (me and my wife shared a bed and we sank into the middle). When we checked in I specifically asked about pool hours and the staff told us promptly that it was open from 8am to 10pm. So the next morning I get the kids up early so we can have breakfast and go for a swim only to see that the pool was temporarily closed. Needless to say we had some very disappointed kids ( which could have been avoided if the staff told me the pool was closed upon check in)all in all 2 bad experiences and I will never ever stay here again.
The room was a little dated and the furniture was showing its age. It was still clean and comfortable. Customer service was awesome. It is off the beaten path a little but it was close to everything we needed during our stay. We DoorDashed a late dinner to the location with no issues as well.
I chose this hotel for the proximity to EPRI's HQ meetings. My stay was for 4 nights. I received my room upon arrival. Great front desk service. After a couple of days, I've noticed room service did not clean my room nor changed towels, nor supplied any consumables. I asked at the front desk to please have it taken care of the following day. The situation repeated itself every day until my check out 4 nights after. I asked at the front desk what was happening. They very kindly told me that they didn't know and entered notes to the manager. But no action was taken. I kindly recommend the management of this unit Mrs. Sarah George to look into this. I believe the front desk did their job. I'm not sure if house keeping are understaffed or simply missed to check my room in 4 days. If they missed doing their job, I would say they need training and some accountability. If they are not staffed properly, then it is al management responsibility, and then a fix should be applied. Room maintenance is low, and general cleanness is poor. I do not recommend this hotel. I recommend you find another hotel nearby even if you have to pay a bit more.
I would like to give the Springhill Suites Research Park location 5 stars. The general manager: Edyta Hall was so personable. The hotel was clean and accommodating. We would also like to recognize Cedric, Rocky and Zetta. Thank you so much for your professional service!
