Good Food on Montford
Steven Suarez
True to it's name, the food was good. In fact, some dishes were simply amazing. What blew me away and left an unforgettable impression were the mussels and this is coming from someone who doesn't particularly like mussels. To start, the mussels were cooked wonderfully and it was presented in a way that was both delicate and bold. But the real star of the show was the sauce. It had such deep and complex flavors but they never once overpowered the mussels. They managed to make a spicy and refreshing sauce that was pleasing to the eyes and taste buds. The Maitake was good. It wasn't nearly as bold as the mussels, but I really appreciated the way they managed to so masterfully combine flavors. I was not nearly impressed with the Korean Beef. Not because it wasn't good, but because I felt that the sauce provided was too strong and tended to overpower all the other ingredients. The salmon was not very good. This is the one dish where I felt that the ingredients were at war with each other. Visually amazing, but lacking in execution. Overall, I enjoyed my time here and would definitely recommend it.

Loved Good Food on Montford in Charlotte. It was packed on a Tuesday night. Loved the space and ambience. Our server Lee was fantastic. He was very attentive and friendly. The food was unbelievable. My only negative is that the portions were a little small. We had so many amazing things. We had the Korean beef, the mussels, the octopus, Jimmys Buns, Brussel sprouts and fries. Everything was delicious. Will definitely go back.

This place we better than good, it was great! Walk into a dimly lit room with a bar and plenty of tables. We had the chefs counter in the back and got to watch the prep of some of the food. The Brazilian cheese bread is a great pull apart bread and comes with a delicious fog sauce that you will want more of. The charcuterie board had 4 different meats and tasty bread with a strong crunch. The falafel had amazing flavor on top of a bed of hummus. Both the Pork Belly buns and the Korean beef were excellent. I liked the buns more than the beef personally. Finished with the flourless chocolate cake with ice cream and served on top of toffee, which adds texture and a nice sweet and crunchy accent to the desert. The food was great. Portion sizes are a little small, but the flavor combinations are delightful. Highly recommend

We had the most amazing Valentine's Day dinner at GFoM. It was our first time visiting and the food and drinks blew us away! Our server, Jackie, was friendly and fast even though it was the end of what I'm sure was a very long, busy day for her. We will definitely be back for another date night!

We had dinner for two here mid week. Menu small and eclectic. Started with soft pretzels and fancy named French fries and both were very tasty. Main course was pasta with sausage and then their Mahi fish. We also ordered a side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were excellent and better than main dishes. But both main courses were very good. Plates and portions small as presentation over substance prevail. One big star taken off as main courses served at least 10 minutes apart. That in my book should NEVER happen as other person just stares at their food getting cold hoping the other dish comes out later. Otherwise service good and staff attentive. Not sure if it was by chance, but almost all tables were ladies and we were one of the few man, women couples in room. Server stated that every night is ladies night here. Pleasant dining experience.
