Upscale baked goods and ambiance. Consistent stream of customers. Felt like a destination location since not much else nearby to draw traffic, which means people appreciate and enjoy the quality. Good amount of seating with folks reading or working on laptops while enjoying pastries. Has a handful of tables outside, pets welcome. Also seating in a rear "atrium" but it was scetchy compared to the store inside. My family enjoyed our visit through town.
Amelie's has a number of sites in Charlotte now, but the original location in NoDa remains the most quirky and best. It's a great late night hangout with decent but not astounding desserts and coffees. It offers fairly priced breakfasts and lunches. The crowd is diverse and eclectic. If you saw the first movie in the "Hunger Games" series, the enormous table stacked high with desserts were all made at Amelie's for the film.
I like the environment and the unique decoration, its a comfortable and vintage place. But I dont like their tables and chairs which are not comfortable. They have a tasty cappuccino. I like sandwiches with different flavors and greens. Try onion soup and chicken wrap, or you can customize you sandwich which I did. Also you should keep on your mind about parking area with no more two hours or your car will be pulled.
This is the best bakery that I have been to thus far while in Charlotte! Cool atmosphere and yummy snacks! A little pricey, so I wont be buying treats from here all the time but overall it's a nice place!
Amelie's is a great hangout spot open 24 hours. There are more than enough tables inside and outside. The food ranges from tarts, muffins, and cakes all the way to salads and sandwiches. The decor inside is one of a kind! I would recommend this area to get a quick bite, coffee, or for some alone time to study or meet up with friends.
